Wedding Photographs from Dunkeld Hilton | Perthshire Wedding Photography
Andrew and Pauline’s wedding at the end of July saw us go back to one of our favourite Perthshire Wedding Venue’s, Dunkeld Hilton House Hotel. Like, many of my fellow Scottish Wedding Photographers we aren’t blessed with reliable weather even during our summer months and always need to keep a wee eye on the weather forecast in the run up to any wedding that we are due to photograph. This wedding was a mixed day, so working quickly and efficiently was the biggest requirement.
The rain held of so that Andrew and Pauline could enjoy a lovely outdoor ceremony, followed by photos around the hotel and it’s vast gorgeous grounds and even got down to the banks of the Tay. We had just finished taking all our wedding portraits and the family formals when the heavens opened up with a well timed thunder storm that didn’t let up for the remainder of the wedding day. Our bride and groom were good sports though and headed outside in the rain to create some stunning backlit portraits under the umbrella with the rain sparkling like diamonds.
Here is Pauline and Andrew telling their own little story about their wedding day followed by a few of our favourite wedding photographs from this Perthshire Wedding at Dunkeld Hilton.
1. How did you both meet?
We were set up on a blind date by Pauline’s mum. She knew Andy through friends and gave him Pauline’s number and the rest as they say is history.
2.When did you know he/she was the one? Was it something that they did? etc
We both feel it was pretty obvious from the moment we met. We had a meal for our 1st date and then went back to Pauline’s and chatted until 4am in the morning.
3. Tell us about the proposal, (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning, how did you feel, nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Andy proposed at the Hermitage in the snow. He had been planning it a while and Pauline had absolutely no idea.
4. Tell us one thing that you love most about each other
The fact that no matter how bad things may be we can still cheer each other up.
5.Why did you choose Dunkeld Hilton as the venue for your wedding?
Beautiful settings, lovely staff and we love Dunkeld.
6.Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you look forward to the most on the wedding day?
All of our family and friends having a good time
7. How did you find wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?
We planned it in a year and a half. It is the fastest time ever. Advice- Book things early , enjoy every minute and do it your way.
8. Is there anything that you wish you knew earlier when it comes to planning a wedding
How many little things there were to do and how many people have to be involved and the obvious one being the price.
