Wedding photographs from Glenturret Distillery | Perthshire Wedding Photography
When I arrived at Rachael’s house on the morning of her wedding there was excitement and anticipation in the air and everyone was in great spirits and looking forward to the fun and excitement soon to follow at they’re wedding at Glenturret Distillery
Rachael’s attention to detail of her vintage wedding theme was fantastic – a lovely blue colour scheme continued throughout the day.
The only thing that wasn’t vintage, Rachael’s wedding car which also happened to be her dad’s porsche which took her the short journey from their family home to Glenturret Distillery, where Steven and groomsmen waited excitedly for Rachael’s big arrival.
During the service I could see that the couple were so happy and after the service the high energy and excitement made for a wonderful atmosphere. There was a great speeches followed by a fantastic meal which kept everyone laughing and later that evening.
To Rachael and Steven – thank you so much again for asking me to photograph your wedding at Glenturret Distillery. It was so great to be a part of your incredible day and thank you for all your lovely kind words about your photographs. I wish you both a very long and happy future together, which I know it will be!
A huge thank you to Rachael and Steven for sharing their wedding story too
1) Tell us how you first met?
We met as teenagers having mutual friends, hanging around the local park.
2) When did you know he/she was the one? Was it something that they did? etc
We just clicked, had similar interests and got along. It was easy being with each other! As time went past was clear we had an excellent base to our relationship and to be honest, never had any doubt we weren’t each others “one”.
3) Tell us about the proposal, (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning, how did you feel, nervous, excited, freaking out?)
R – We were on holiday in the States, out shopping in a Mall. Steven booked me in to get a mani-pedi on the premise that he could go out to look at TVs. An hour or so later, we met up again to go for a cocktail in the sunshine and all of a sudden he was down on one knee with a box in his hand… I was sooo shocked and it came totally out of the blue but of course I said yes!
S – I had done my research prior to going on holiday but I don’t think Rachael had a clue about my plan for that day. I was very nervous about asking her to marry me, if she’d said no, it would have been a pretty awkward holiday!
4) Tell us one thing that you love most about each other
R – I love Steven’s confidence and manliness, he can be tough and a gentleman when necessary.
S – I love Rachael’s thoughtfulness and kind heart, she is lovely and very caring person.
5) Why did you choose Glenturret Distillery as the venue for your wedding
We chose the distillery as we met and grew up in Crieff, it seemed like the right size for us and meant we could have the whole place to ourselves. The setting in amongst the trees and the river is beautiful.
6) Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you look forward to the most on the wedding day
We are both looking forward to the food and drinks – wedding diets are tough!
7) Is there anything that you wish you knew earlier when it comes to planning a wedding
You can never underestimate how much time it will take to make your own invitations…
