Newborn Photo Shoot – Preperation
The most important part of preparing your newborn baby for their photo shoot is that you aim to keep your baby awake for two hours prior to your session if possible.
Ideally give them a bath, let them kick around and then feed them just prior to coming to your session – that way your baby should be nice and sleepy for the session. They will have had time to digest their milk and bring up any wind they may have. If you have a long journey to the studio then you may need to give them a top up feed before we start the session.
If bottle feeding please bring plenty of bottles, your baby will feed more than normal during the session.
For the photographs your baby will be unclothed but posed so all the ‘important bits’are not on show.
The studio will be kept very warm for their comfort. So please bear
in mind that you will be very warm too so come dressed in layers and bring spare clothes for yourself in case of accidents.
Your newborn will poo and wee on all the props. This is natural and expected. Please do not feel embarrassed when this happens, because they all do it.
Don’t worry about baby acne or little scratches, these will be softly edited.
If your baby has a dummy please bring it. Please do not worry, this will not affect future habits but will ensure that your baby settles for the shoot and the dummy can be thrown away after.
Please refrain from taking images on your mobile phones during the shoot. We will supply you with a sneak peek edited image with our logo on, for use on social media that you can show your friends and family.
Images taken on your phone during a shoot do not reflect the quality of our work.
